Desert Olives

September

While so many days are very “normal” for Caleb here, with naps and walks and visits, the past few weeks have been a little more exciting…

We took a trip to the coast of Africa for a special conference.  We enjoyed swimming in the Indian ocean, seeing monkeys on our morning walk, and being with special friends.  The pool and crepes at 4pm every day weren’t so bad either…

When we tried to leave to come home, we had delays and were “stuck” in Nairobi for two days.  This ended up being a treat of a time, with a visit to an elephant orphanage, more time with friends and some great coffee.  Soon enough, we were flying back – with a stop in Northern Sudan and an overnight stay in Cairo.  Caleb likes to keep his itinerary spicy!

Wait! There’s more!  Here are a few photos from when Caleb and Kelly visited some friends in their tent on the way home from a desert clinic day.  To top off the week, we got to meet a real princess.  She was visiting the baby home where Caleb plays with his Bedouin friends.  We didn’t get photos because Caleb was nursing while photos were happening, but she was a lovely, gentle person, dressed very normally (no crown or dress or anything!)
