We attended our friend Shaadi’s wedding a few weeks ago. He comes from a beautiful town. Men and women were separated all day except for the drive to pick up the bride (with lots of honking and loud arabic music). Sheep are slaughtered by the men for a traditional meal of meat, rice and yogurt sauce. The men spend the day drinking coffee and smoking. The women drink tea and dance to loud Bedouin music. Caleb found himself in new arms every few minutes – he did great with it. It was a special day for us.
