Desert Olives

Thanksgiving

This morning, Caleb was feeling cold (thanks to almost a week of beautiful rainy weather for our desert town!) and had a tummy ache from it.  I heated up our house and got some good socks and a warm sweater on him.  “I feel better!  I’m not cold anymore!” he said.  I had to pause and add this to a long list of “thankful.”  We can’t help but note that the ability to warm up and feel secure is a precious gift not available to everyone around us now.  So we celebrate a day of thanks, baking pumpkin pie with a neighbor who wanted to learn and sharing a big potluck dinner with an international community.  Meanwhile, we cherish memories of time with family, picking out pumpkins in the Fall sunshine during our time in the US.  Just thankful.
