Getting the Basics

Rebecca, my beautiful friend and new sister-in-law, asked me about food shopping so I thought I would bring the camera along one day on the errands we run together a few times a week to get the things we use most.  We start at our apartment above the tire shop and walk through our neighborhood streets.  Often, Evan is in a carrier and Caleb is either walking or in the stroller.  We visit a shop that sells dairy and get a kilo of yogurt (which we finish in a couple of days!) and sometimes the bread baker across the street (but usually get this across town) and then the “banana man” who owns a nice produce shop.  He is named for his tendency to give Caleb a banana every time he sees us.  Caleb loves him. Sometimes we stop into little side shops that sell nuts or flour or things like that.  Caleb (who has always been good at navigating our marketplaces) is a great helper, paying for things, asking for change and thanking the shop owners.
